Evergreen Chorale
The Evergreen Chorale is in the midst of presenting the final production of its 40th anniversary season, performing together with the Fiesta Colorado Dance Company. The program focuses on Latin American music and dance, more specifically Argentinian.
The centerpiece of the event is Ariel Ramirez’s haunting “Misa Criolla,” an Argentine Mass in which each movement is based on a different traditional folk dance. Classical guitar, a percussion ensemble and marimbas complete this colorful celebration.
Dancers from the Fiesta Colorado Dance Company change costumes frequently, brilliantly portraying colorful renditions of Argentinian folk dances. Fiesta Colorado, founded in 1972 by Jeanette Trujillo-Lucero, is considered the premier Hispanic dance company of Colorado.
After already performing twice at Center/Stage last weekend, the group will perform at the Lakewood Cultural Center May 17 at 7:30 pm and again at The Armory Performing Arts Center in Brighton May 18 at 7:30 pm.
