Anger is OKAY Violence is NOT teaches them about dealing with their own anger, and reporting unsafe behavior in adults. This book is also useful to toddlers struggling with temper tantrums. It teaches replacement behaviors
Author Julie Federico – former counselor at Evergreen Middle School – has been a counselor in middle schools since 1993. She holds a bachelor’s degree in social work and a master’s degree in counseling from Indiana University. Federico is a children's author who writes short stories about anger problems and child abuse.
As a middle school counselor for 14 years she encountered a multitude of child abuse stories. She wrote Some Parts are NOT for Sharing as a tool for children on how to report child abuse. Anger is OKAY Violence is NOT teaches children about violence prevention, ways to control anger, and interventions for temper tantrums. There is a hidden message for children in the book about what is violence, specifically what is domestic violence. Julie's goal is to end childhood sexual abuse, she is doing this one book at a time. Some Parts are NOT for Sharing is also available in Spanish.
Julie Federico’s landmark children’s books are a finalist in the Colorado Independent Publisher’s Association Evvy awards.
