“The Powers Art Center opened on July 7, 2014 in Carbondale, Colorado, said Karen Lindsay, coordinator of Museum Moments. “The art center is a memorial to the life of John G. Powers who retired from Prentice Hall as president. From his late 40s on, he devoted himself to his passion for collecting art. In particular, he favored contemporary American and 5th- to 19th-century Japanese art. He collected more than 600 pieces of Jasper Johns’ work which the museum showcases.”

“John Powers said, ‘Contemporary art makes people talk and have full conversations about the world around them.’ Please come and join an artful conversation,” said Lindsay. “The Powers Center is a work of art itself. We are so fortunate to have Melissa come to CAE.”
