Hundreds turned out in support of paramedic Dave Montesi Friday night, June 9th, starting at 4:00 at the Little Bear.  There were friends and co-workers and people who only knew Dave because he showed up to help a loved one when medical help was needed.  People who became acquainted with Dave during his appeal to put defibrillators around the community were there as well.

The well-liked employee of Evergreen Fire/Rescue learned recently that he has metastatic melanoma, a form of skin cancer that spreads quickly – already found in his lymph nodes.

The event might have been organized to raise money – and indeed it did – but it seemed apparent that it raised spirits more than anything else for Dave and his wife, Tali.  The love and admiration hanging in the air was thicker than any smoke that used to prevail in the historic bar on Main Street.  When Dave and Tali appeared on stage to speak to the crowd, their presence commanded more attention and respect than any celebrity that had ever graced that stage in the history of the venue.

Money raised will be used to assist int he cost for Dave to undergo surgery and systemic immunotherapy.
