The 11th Mountain Area Home & Garden Show will take place on Saturday April 30th and Sunday May 1st, at the Evergreen High School, 29300 Buffalo Park Road.
From 9.00 a.m. – 5.00 p.m. on Saturday April 30th and 10.00 a.m. – 3.00 p.m. on Sunday May 1st, area residents will be able to chat with vendors about their products, take advantage of ‘Show Specials’ and enjoy educational seminars about how to improve your ‘Home & Garden’.
Last year over 2,200 people attended the show and over 110 vendors exhibited. It was a significant community event where both visitors and vendors enjoyed getting to know the other businesses in the area.
The Mountain Area Home and Garden Show (MAHGS) is an event put on by the community for the community. “It is a great opportunity for residents to see what products and services are available within their community; we don’t always have to ‘go down the hill’ to purchase what we need for our homes and gardens” said Lee Willis, this year’s Show Chairman.
Our local foothill neighborhoods benefit through the residents’ support for this event. This year’s beneficiaries are the Evergreen Rotary Foundation (ERF) and the Conifer Rotary Foundation (CRF). The ERF and the CRF are the entities that distribute money to the local community and internationally on behalf of the Evergreen and Conifer Rotary Clubs. All the proceeds generated by The Mountain Area Home and Garden Show will be distributed back into the local community.
Over the years many local organizations have benefited from Rotary grants, including: The Senior Resource Center, Mountain Resource Center, Evergreen Christian Outreach, Blue Spruce Habitat for Humanity, Evergreen Chamber Orchestra, Conifer Trails, Evergreen Fire and Rescue, Evergreen and Conifer High Schools, Mountain Area Land Trust, Mt. Evans Hospice and many more.
In 2015 the Evergreen and Conifer Rotary Foundations were each presented with a $13,500 check. Since its inception, the Mountain Area Home & Garden Show has raised over $152,000 for the local community.
