On June 12th, visitors to the Evergreen Lake House pretended for one evening that they was overlooking Lake Victoria in Uganda, East Africa.  The event celebrated Africa and its people with music, dinner, drinks and an African bazaar, benefitting Into Your Hands Africa, whose mission is to change lives through education and enterprise development.

Into Your Hands Africa works with the St. Denis Senior Secondary School in the Makondo community in Uganda since incorporating in March of 2007.  Through its fundraising events, the charitable group has completed the construction of a school library, purchased bunk beds and mosquito nets for the girls' dormitory, equipped the computer lab with 10 computers and Internet service, started the Send a Piglet Home Program, installed water tanks, and provided more than 200 scholarships to qualified students.

Into Your Hands

Into Your Hands fosters a culture of self-reliance by providing vulnerable rural youth in Uganda, East Africa, with opportunities for education and micro-enterprise development. Since 2007, Into Your Hands has provided over 400 scholarships to students, some of which are now the first in their families to go to university. Into Your Hands also provides youth the means to start and manage their own rural enterprise through which they generate income help pay for school tuition and help their families.
