Meet Ben Allen
Ben Allen brings his unique blend of energy, enthusiasm and business expertise to his current role as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Evergreen Chamber of Commerce. Ben is affectionately known as Evergreen’s own version of the energizer bunny as he is always on the go and exudes exuberance about the Evergreen community.
Ben has been a member of the Chamber for 11 years. He believes that, particularly in an unincorporated town like Evergreen, the Chamber is crucial to effective business development for local owners. Although Ben is extremely busy with his own successful company, he felt it was very important for him to give back to the organization. He attributes the mentoring and guidance he received as a member of the Chamber as highly contributory to his own success. Ben is excited about the direction that the Chamber is taking in our community and is especially appreciative of his opportunity to work closely with Lin Browning, the new Executive Director of the Chamber.
In addition to his involvement with the Chamber, Ben has also been very instrumental in the Evergreen Rotary for many years. He has been the Youth Exchange Officer for his Rotary Club since 2000; just recently he has passed that baton on to another local Rotarian and his now working with student exchange at the division level for Rotary.
Ben is the director of Allen Technology, a full-service technology consulting company which offers services to businesses with 10 or more employees. He consults with other business owners about making effective, efficient choices about computer network purchases and services. Ben started this business 13 years ago and has seen tremendous growth in his company over the last decade.
Ben and his wife Kathleen have four children ranging from 8 to 15 years of age. They know, even better than most of us, how important living in a caring community like Evergreen can be. Several years ago, Kathleen sustained catastrophic injuries in an accident. Ben had a catch in his voice as he described the enormous outpouring of help and compassion that his family received during those difficult times. Ben is very grateful to live in the serene surroundings of our town and can’t think of a better place to raise his children
